Who We Are

Ockenden Cambodia is a non-political, non-religious, non-partisan, non-profit Cambodian non-governmental organization devoted to furthering community development, poverty reduction, good local governance, capacity building, partnership work with Cambodian non-government organizations (NGOs), community based organizations (CBOs), and government, and advocacy.

Mission
In solidarity with partner institutions and host communities, Ockenden Cambodia aims to empower and improve the quality of life of poor and vulnerable Cambodian people.

Vision
Ockenden Cambodia envisions that  all poor and vulnerable people of Cambodia are socially integrated and live in self-sufficiency, peace and prosperity.

Goal

• • To improve the livelihood and food security of its target groups.
  • To empower target groups thereby enabling them to effectively and meaningfully participate in decision- making and community development projects affecting their lives.
  • To facilitate policy initiatives and reforms that benefits the poor.
  • To be a world class Cambodian non-government organization  

Apporaches

• All Ockenden Cambodia's inputs are designed not to create dependency and to ensure that all inputs are built on community strengths.
• Ockenden will design all inputs to work towards self-sufficiency
• Ockenden Cambodia will remain a pragmatic organisation seeking solutions based on the context within which we work.
• Ockenden will work in partnership with communities, organisations and institutions at all levels.
• Ockenden will wherever possible use only participatory beneficiary-centred methodology, in particular ensuring their true primacy in PRA and PLA and other community-based activities.
• Ockenden Cambodia's decisions to work are based on target group need, existing provision and Ockenden and its partners’ capacity to respond to target group needs.
• Ockenden Cambodia maintains its full commitment to the highest standards of professional and ethical practice.

• Ockenden Cambodia seeks to assure the quality of its work through inviting external audit, evaluations, and inspections, under the overall oversight of its Board of Directors and through consultation with its panel of Technical Advisors in Cambodia and abroad.
