Do you know? *£100 could provide a cow for a Cambodian family: Owning a cow will help people plough their fields and increase their rice yield – ensuring that families have enough food to last them throughout the year. Cow manure also saves on the cost of buying chemical fertilisers.

Your help is changing lives of Cambodians
"Poseir is aged 21, recently married, his wife is now pregnant. They were landless. He used to cut trees and sell firewood. The Koh Kralor CBO, which was established by Ockenden and its local NGO partner, ADA, included them in the "home garden self-help group" scheme. The CBO works with the commune and village authorities to secure access to land for very poor families and arranged a plot for Posier. They now grow several crops, but they found that corn (or maize) is the most successful. They also found that if they cook it their sales are greater and profits higher at their district market. He no longer fells trees." (Written by John)
